Chapter 1
The prologue has ended,
With all its editors notes.
The author has made his dedications,
And the cover has been thoughtfully assembled.
The binding kept loose to add the next chapters,
And a table of contents, but,
You can see it’s not complete.
This story’s beginning,
Located on page twenty-five.
The publishing house frowned at this, but,
The author had too many thank yous.
Without all these people who helped write the story,
It might as well have been finished,
Before it was started.
The novel of his life,
Lay out before his eyes.
With pen in hand the first word,
Flowed elegantly onto the rough paper.
He laid down his pen,
As fast as he had picked it up,
And began remembering.
All the moments in his life,
Worth writing about.
Each could have their own separate book,
But he had to start somewhere.
The right words could change his life,
And the lives they were about,
Changed his world.
